Rivard Truss is a roof truss and engineered wood products manufacturer in Essex, Ontario. Since 1982, we’ve designed and built engineered roof trusses, TJI® floor joists, beams, columns, and headers for residential, commercial, and agricultural projects across southwestern Ontario, with delivery anywhere in Ontario.

What does Rivard Truss manufacture?

We design and manufacture engineered roof trusses, floor truss systems, and supply Weyerhaeuser Trus Joist® TJI® floor joists (s31, s33, and s47), engineered beams, columns, and headers. Every truss is cut and assembled at our Essex, Ontario facility and checked for quality before shipping.

We’re based in Essex, Ontario and primarily serve Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, Sarnia, Lambton, and the rest of Southwestern Ontario. Our fleet of trucks can deliver anywhere in Ontario.

Truss costs range widely depending on the house build, span, pitch, and style. For custom engineered trusses or specialized designs, prices can be estimated to run between $19.75 per linear foot and $350 per truss.

During our busiest season (early to mid-summer), we try to stay within a 2 to 3 week delivery schedule.

Both. We supply custom home builders, framing contractors, and agricultural and commercial builders, and we also work directly with homeowners on additions, garages, and shops.

Engineered trusses span longer distances without interior load-bearing walls, install faster, produce less jobsite waste, and are built to nationally recognized design standards for consistent strength. Most roof systems can be installed without heavy machinery

A raised-heel truss adds vertical space where the truss meets the exterior wall, allowing full-depth attic insulation right to the edge of the roof. In Canadian winters this means fewer cold spots, lower heating costs, and reduced risk of ice dams.

Yes. Every truss system is designed by our team using industry-leading design software to your local building code, and sealed engineering drawings are provided for permits.
